T-Valley

The connector between higher education and industry.

T-Valley

T-Valley is a collaboration between knowledge institutions, governments and companies in the field of mechatronics. Sixteen years ago Mechatronica Valley Twente (MVT) started with the main aim of guaranteeing the continuity of education in mechatronic design at the University of Twente (UT). Since then, the UT has trained a large number of mechatronics who have found their way to high-tech companies in the east of the Netherlands and beyond. Moreover, MVT has put Twente and its surroundings on the map as a leading mechatronics region, including with the annual congress T-Valley.

T-Valley

The renewed T-Valley must structurally organize the cooperation between the industry and education/ research of Saxion in the eastern part of the Netherlands. T-Valley wants to make the transfer of students and knowledge of the knowledge institutions to the companies fluent. T-Valley becomes a cluster and network organization that goes beyond MVT. It does not include the care of mechatronic education and external knowledge sharing alone, but also offers active knowledge sharing and development together with the companies in expert sessions. It involves acquiring and bringing knowledge. For the formulation of larger research programs and proposals workshops are organized, where companies can contribute their questions and expertise.

Founder Dirk Bekke is lecturer Mechatronics at Saxion University of Applied Sciences. In addition to mechatronic education and profiling of the high-tech industry in the east of the Netherlands, knowledge exchange takes place about concrete projects concerning robotics and smart industry.
